Description

This is my version of the tea top pattern, without ruffles and with straps. I had this fabric leftover from lining a jacket and it worked perfectly for this garment. I absolutely love the way the front looks and fits, although after sewing in the zipper and trying it on it has become very ripply and not so attractive. At this point I’m not sure what I have done wrong and am not redoing it for a while, I want to just admire it for now! If you might know the solution to this problem, pleeeease let me know! Thanks!

Aah of course! I shortened the zipper by half and it isn’t ripply anymore! Oh and I do think that fabric is from wally world, it is left over from a school project that I shall put on here soon. Thanks everybody!

as a solution to your problem you might want to use a shorter zipper, that way there will be less rippling. good luck!

It looks really cute! And I love houndstooth so anything made with it is a winner for me…. I think the problem with the zipper may be that a)you stretched the fabric a little while sewing on the zipper, and b) you probably need some sort of dart or something of the sort in the back to avoid that…it’s pretty hard to tell with that pic… If you get me a good, detailed pic of the back with you wearing I will most likely be able to tell you how to fix it exactly. Either way, it looks great!

I think it looks great! But maybe we could have a pic of it on you (or another real-life model?) I think the color and button detail on the front are my favs things about this top!
