My attempt at copying a $4000+ (1990s price) Romeo Gigli coat from his Winter 89-90 collection. (I was a poor student. I couldn’t possibly afford it.)
The sewing didn’t take very long. But the applique embroidery took forever. All in all it tooked me about a decade to finish this coat. And unfortunately it’s humongous on me. (I have problems getting the fit, scale, and silhouette right on many sewing projects.)
Definitely a labor of love. When I have time I’ll try to include a bit more construction details in case there are bits you can adapt for your project.
