My new Irish dancing costume. I used Vogue pattern 8510 for the bodice and altered the sleeves. I didn’t use a pattern for the skirt.
Velvet from denverfabrics.com, Satin from Joann fabrics, Swarovski crystal beads on the headband.

Hi, Those Irish dancing you made are fantastic. I am making an irish dancing dress at the moment, I will post the picture when the dress is complete.

Suzete, I designed the knotwork on the front, and created the pattern for the skirt, decided on the color combinations etc. Princess seamed bodices are pretty standard for an Irish dance costume, The copyright on the drawing is mostly as proof of when I put together the idea for the dress, since there have been occasions when Irish dancing costumes have been copied.
Also, here is the vogue pattern if you want to see how I’ve changed it: http://voguepatterns.mccall.com/v8510-products-9008.php?page_id=1156&search_control=display&list=search

Looks fab, but I don’t understand one thing… if you used a Vogue pattern for parts of the dress, then how can it be designed by you? I’m not trying to be mean, nor do I want to copy the dress (I don’t do Irish dancing), but I’m just a little confused.
Have fun anyway.

The title is too cute and the colours are amazing. I love watching Irish dancing. The costumes especially are quite lovely and well adorned.
