Burda Style For people who sew

This ist my first project of “Gertie’s new book for better sewing”. And there will follow much more …
I love the shape of the skirt, espacially the high waist. I stabilized the waistband with rigiline-boning like Gertie recommend it and I’m very happy with the result. The only alteration I made was to take in some length. I hemed the skirt by hand, the same way like I finished the sideseams. From now on I will use underlining much more than in the past. And I’m looking forward to much more of Gertie’s projects.
Material Notes
blue and black cotton velvet, black poly for the lining, ribbon for hemming the skirt and finishing the sideseams
