I bought this book a while back but finally got around to making something with it. I had a lot of fun, and I recommend checking out the book if you like 40s and 50s fashion or learning interesting construction techniques.

This dress is one of my favourites from Gertie’s book and the fabric you used is very nice gives a romantic touch to your garment. It’s a beautiful dress. I recently got Gertie’s book though I haven’t had yet the chance to try any of the patterns but seeing your great result makes want give it a try right away.

Oh my, this is lovely! What a creative fabric choice, really modernizes the look. I’m a big fan of this book, and thank you for the inspiration to make up a few more patterns from it!

Thanks! I was glad to finally find a pattern I liked enough to use the fabric (which I’ve been holding onto for a while). Have fun and good luck with sewing your gertie patterns :)
