As soon as I made the Galaxy Veronica top, I knew I had to make another. This style of tunic uses up my spandex scraps perfectly because of all the panels. This pattern is a variation from the new book BurdaStyle Sewing Vintage Modern using the base pattern Elizabeth Gathered-Waist Dress. I followed the instructions for the ’80s Veronica top which I love so much!
I used some of my scrap spandex to make this tunic, and I bound all the edges in the limegreen mystique spandex. I decided to use this neon printed spandex because I loved how the triangles in the print played off of the silhouette. I actually ended up wearing this on new year ’s eve. It was great, a lot of girls wear black on this night…but not me, I like to stand out!
I visited the MoMA PS1 with Jamie recently where I photographed my project. We went to go see CONFETTISYSTEM’s new stunning installation, 100 Arrangements. It was amazing! I also spotted this colorful graffiti across the street, so I decided to snap a pic in front of there as well. My spandex print really blends in with the graffiti!
