I have made this dress following project 130 in Burda style magazine December 2012 issue, as a surprise for a colleague who is expecting.
The dress features elaborate, contrasting white piping on seams and edges.
It could be the perfect smart maternity dress or great office wear. The skirt section is widely flared, with inverted pleats. The sleeves feature elasticated wristbands.
I must admit the project is pretty challenging, and you had ego be prepared to make load soy white bias binding. I used the pre-prepared white satin tape, it was a lot easier like that.
I struggle with the instructions and read about the previous projects based on this pattern, however I could not find a lot. It seems that many Burda members have given up and cut corners or improved the style.
I did manager to follow the project through, however (although I cut it) I left out the front panel as it was covering too much.
Can’t wait to see your versions!
