This is a very belated christmas present for a friend. I saw the fabric and new I would make Allie with it. While I love the fabric design, I hate sewing with satin and fabrics with stretch… won’t do it again soon.
I am quite happy with the way the outside turned out, but the inside is a bit too messy for my liking. The facing around the neck is horrible despite the care I took sewing it, I want to find another solution for it next time (I have gorgeous burgundy fabric ready for another friend’s b’day present). I made a trial run from cotton for myself and the facing was terrible there too, but I thought it was because I had sewed it on the wrong way round… Anyhow, I hope my friend will like it and feel special wearing it ;-)

I can see why you chose this fabric. It’s really beautiful. You mentioned “the inside is a bit too messy for my liking.” Maybe you could try using French seams next time to create a very clean look inside? Thanks for sharing your project.
