This is a skirt based off of a project from the Burdastyle Sewing Vintage Modern book. I received this lovely houndstooth fabric from a fashion analysis professor, and it was like 5 1/2 yards, so I was ready to make just about anything with it. While I didn’t necessarily want a whole dress, I decided instead to go with a skirt variation of the Elizabeth dress. I basically took the skirt portion of the pattern and slapped on a yoke from another. This was my first time ever using the blind hem technique and it’s so worth the time. The fabric just hangs better with a blind hem.
It’s so light and effervescent. When I wear it, I always want to twirl and watch the fabric fly.
30 select jacket and coat patterns are now marked down to $3.99.
