Gather 'Round Me tops

Added Sep 4, 2011

Palmerston North...

These have got to be my favourite tops in my wardrobe, as you can see I have a few variations! They have a gathered neckline and a loose fit, finished with bands around the bottom, neckline and sleeves. They are oh-so-comfortable and flattering, and are great for work and play! It also helps that I love sewing gathers, it’s so satisfying!

Material Notes

Stretchy knit with some nice drape, and a gorgeous pattern.

I love them! Isn’t it great to find (or make) a pattern that you use over and over!

Thank you! I love the fabric – they were all the kind of fabric where you see them and immediately know what you’re going to do with them.

Very nice tops. They look so comfortable. Did you use a store bought pattern or did you draft them yourself? Keep upi the great sewing!

Thank you! I drafted the pattern myself from a loose(ish) shirt and added extra space for gathering and a bit of ‘flow’ around the torso, and just measured out the bands depending on the neckline. Very easy!
