I have failed with my fabric choices more than I dare to admit, but I feel I’ve nailed it this time. I just love the rows of butterflies (although I didn’t always manage to match print along seams). I should’ve lined the skirt as I did with the bodice though, because it looks a bit too sheer, but I didn’t bother.
It turned out to be a mistake to use 40 cm zipper instead of a 60 cm one, because I have slight problems getting dressed now. Oh well. I also have a few fitting issues, but I’ve got quite a few compliments already, so what the hell.
I’ll probably use the pattern again sometime (the pleats on the skirt are just adorable), but I guess I should do a bit of redrafting when it comes to bodice. For example, I shortened to bodice about 5 cm (I’m only 159 cm), but when I tried it on, it was kind of bra-length! After attaching the skirt, it didn’t look that wrong though.
2 metres of cotton, random scraps of poly for the lining, 40 cm invisible zipper
