I have many many hats and was getting rather bored with the usual bland colours so decided to make this hat in a rose and skull tattoo fabric. I draughted the pattern using an existing hat as a guide and it all went to gether surprisingly easily. The outer fabric is a polycotton blend which is layered with felt to give the hat a little rigidity to keep it in shape, and I used two layers of felt on the brim with concentric circles sewn around it to give it extra stiffness so it could be shaped easily.
This hat is availabe for sale on my etsy store http://www.etsy.com/shop/knitknaksuk
and many more will follow shortly. I will also scan in the pattern i created and make it available soon both here and at http://aestrella.wordpress.com/
