Now for a fun summertime duo! I made this skirt out of a mid-1940’s pattern and the halter top from a 1950’s pattern (Simplicity 3879). I started the halter top when I first started sewing and it languished as an UFO for quite some time. I found the instructions to be a bit confusing. However, when I revisited it one year later it made perfect sense (probably because I had done quite a bit more sewing in that interval).
I made both the halter top and skirt from a cotton broadcloth fabric. I chose the fabric to match a pair of shoes and purse I had (from one of my favourite online companies Ness
My partner, David helped me make the matching belt from a scarf! I used a belt kit that I got from A Fashionable Stitch
I’ve been able to wear this outfit quite a bit in the past week or so with the amazing weather we are having in Scotland! YAY for sunshine!! :)
