I wanted to make a fun skirt for my daughter that had big pockets on the outside to add a fun element to a plain circle skirt. I have been away from sewing clothing for more than a decade and wanted a beginner project to cut my teeth on and re-familiarize me with sewing again. I ended up using Simplicity easy to sew pattern 2224 with some adjustments. I got rid of the tie sting waist and just used elastic. I made the shorter version of the skirt and did not use the straps with the pockets. I also added embelishment with some lime green and turquoise ribbon. Hopefully I can find a soft, fuzzy lime green sweater to match the color in the ribbon.
Knit material that has sequins in it, ribbon of your choice and elastic for the waist
