I made this dress to represent the sewing soc I started in college at the societies ball…
The idea was to make a simple and elegant black dress, but I had this idea that stayed in my mind and wouldn’t go… I may have seen that somewhere, but I don’t remember… Anyway, after trials and trials, and eventually it ended up quite like I imagined it!
It was very simple, I just made the seams on the outside and then gathered it. (I can make a tutorial if some of you are interested…) It is not perfect, but I’d like to make another dress or a top with that pattern, now that I know what were my mistakes.
(The last picture is without the belt, so you can understand how it’s made. It looks quite good but actually depending on the light it’s not very flattering, so I wear it with the belt).
Hit the city streets in adventurous looks with utilitarian details like cargo pockets and belts.
Twists on feminine classics, like a bold patterned shift dress and pants with a racing stripe.
