Description

When I first saw the preview of the 2016 Burdastye 70s vintage issue I was deeply disappointed. I found hardly anything I could wear in there and decided not to buy it.
I had just bought this fabric with the intention to make #117 Jumper Dress. from 10/2016. Just before tracing the pattern, I had a look at those vintage patterns again. How could I be so blind! That weird maxi blue dress would look so different in my joyful fuchia!!!. I rushed out of the house looking for the magazine at 10 pm. Now I think I’ll make two more pieces out of this issue!
It’s a nice and easy pattern, with good fit, thanks to only four buttons (no zipper needed)!

This looks great as a pinafore..I actually have the 1970 Burda magazine that featured this pattern..the 70s was a good era for burda.

This is such a cool style Elpida and even though it is vintage I think you have made it now I would wear it in a flash. Great outfit and love the look.

Thanks Ellen! Actually, even the summer version is not wearable without something underneath unless you are a 20 years’ old top model!

You are a fabulous model Elpida, even if you are not 20 years old Elpida! ;-)

Thanks Maria:-) The summer version of it was indeed super sexy but I thought this one was modest enough to wear at work. You put me ideas….

Go on! Do it…Just a little tip: I had to make the curves at the front deeper than the pattern because they were hardly noticeable. Except that it was very simple to sew!

Thank you so much! I was unsure about this pink, as it’s probably too girly for my 46 years, but now I love it!

Baby-pink might be different, but the fuchsia pink is very nice – and perfect for any age I’d say! It’s a pretty color for you.

Thanks Mary! The magazine has some really good patterns but you can easily misjudge them because of the presentation. I think that the photos from the original 70’s magazines are much more attractive.

Hi. I do as well. I can see more potential from the original photos plus line drawings. I can’t wait to get my magazine now xx
