Is it obvious that this tunic top was made from a tablecloth? I hope not because I’ll be wearing it for the rest of the summer and I wouldn’t want anyone to try to eat off me. I love this pattern. (I already made another one of these in pink). It’s such a lovely top for the summer in New York. Flattering yet breezy enough that you won’t wilt in the humidity. I recommend it.

I love the way yours looks! I am making this right now and I am having trouble figuring out the directions. I made the front and I made the back. I am just stuck on how the shoulder straps (how are the front straps sewn to the back?), and how the back neckline and arm holes are finished. Is the inside yoke supposed to be sewn down some how or should I just put a zig zag stitch to stop it from fraying? I found the pintucks to be really easy, of all things.

hmmm, i may have veered off the directions at that point. Looking at my top, I’d say I finished the yoke, and then finished the back neck edge with bias tape, then sewed the front to the back at the shoulder seams. And then finished the arm holes with bias tape. I all looks very finished and nice from the inside and out, so this method would work fine. I don’t knw if this was what the instructions prescribe.

oh, and I finished the inside of the yoke with my serger, and then top-stitched it. You could use a zig-zig if you don’t have a serger, but topstitch like the picture indicates so it lays flat in the right direction

It’s a really cute top and definitely does NOT look like a tablecloth:)
