I discovered this fantastic material in the form of a shirt at the op shop – although I loved the design, I didn’t really think I’d wear it as a top. So in my first attempts at making a top into a skirt, I think I did pretty well. I took some photos as I went along so I’ve made a ‘How To’ for anyone else wanting to make a top into a skirt.
One knit/jersey top, some ribbing, elastic and thread.

Very Missoni…Although the top isn’t half bad, but the fit doesn’t appear great. The skirt is darling. I see fabric like this quite often at my local shop, Vogue Fabrics. I even have some in my stash. Now I need to break out the sewing machine (but it’s too warm to sew) and make a like a Mad Woman and sew some new clothes. I keep wearing the same stuff over and over.

I’m home for the holidays so I don’t have all the clothes I want with me so I just borrowed one of her singlets and we have a significantly different bust size (assuming that’s what you mean about the top)…
I have some material similar to this but in white and green which I bought from an emporium. It’s winter here so a good excuse to sew :)
