One of my latest projects…
It has becoming pretty hard for me to get pictures of what I make, because I can’t take good pictures of myself so I have to ask my boyfriend, and he’s never free to do it… This time, he finally accepted but when it was dark, so artificial light, it’s not hte best! I’m sorry!
So, I’ve been wanting to make this JJ forever! I decided to make a white one to match the blue pencil skirt I made this summer (not shooted yet), but never got the chance. And then winter came, I started looking at my winter fabrics, and fell on these remnants : that was the one I needed!!
I wanted to make the frills bigger than the original, as many of you did; but with my big breast I thought it looked weird when closed!
(By the way, as my machine doesn’t make the buttonholes and I couldn’t find buttons that would match, I put an invisible zipper under the front lap.)
So I thought, the only thing that could match it while open is a high waisted pencil skirt. Or maybe it would match my black jeans if I had a big black elastic belt, but as a matter of fact, I don’t.. So, the skirt!
I used the skirt block I made for myself, the same one I used for my “mini claudie”… Works quite well. Really quick! THe only thing with this one is that I made the waist very, very small! I feel like I’m gonna faint when I wear it, so I really need to broaden it!
But anyway, this “secretary style” is a bit too much for a medical student like me (here in France, we dress quite casually at the hospital…), I’ll wait to be a doctor to wear it! Or on formal occasions, but I don’t have that many :(
Take a trip down the aisle in these gorgeous gowns, or change the fabrics for a spring party dress.
