Description

I made this party dress for a summertime outdoor wedding last weekend. I started with McCall’s 5881 “diystyle” dress pattern and added a fagoting stitch detail to adorn the hemline. This is a comfy dress for a hot day, but perhaps the most fun was had on the previous Friday night spent fagoting!

Material Notes

Peach and ivory brocade from Paron Fabrics-my favorite fabric store—in NYC

-Full lining made from cotton muslin

-Strapless bodice supported by 10 bones of plastic boning

-Fagoted seam stitched with heavy topstitching thread

-ivory invisible zipper at the left side seam
