It is the second time I use this patter. This time it’s for a dress made of silk velvet and lace yoke and peter-pan collar. The name came from a friend of mine, who said when she saw it: oh, that’s a French teacher’s dress!

Wow, I’m so glad I saw this. I was just looking at the Spring 2009 ready-to-wear shows and saw a great black silk blouse with a white collar at A.F. Vandevorst, which I decided I want to make a version of for the fall—so ladylike, yet striking, I thought. Now maybe I’ll have to think about a dress instead!
