Pattern is Dress ‘N’ from Stylish Dress Book. I only had one metre of fabric and was determined to use the selvedge for the hem (because it’s so pretty) so the back piece is spilt into little pieces of different sizes. It was kinda cool to spend the time making it work. Each seam is finished with two lines of stitching on either side of the seam allowance in order to seal the edges from fraying and to make all the piecing look deliberate. I also had a go at pintucking on the bottom of the front piece, just for fun. I ran out of fabric to make a bias strip for the neckline but like the spotty trim anyway. I’m really happy with this dress. The cotton chambray is such a pretty colour of browny-purple and all the extra stitching makes it look really finished. Gosh I love sewing!
