Finally made the dress!
Didn’t do much to it, lengthened the body shortened the sleeves.
The dress itself is very long and I will have to take off another couple of inches before I can use it.
The panels I disliked (on the top version I made) will have to stay for the sake of modesty.
£1 a meter cotton and the red is a sheer curtain from Ikeas’ bargain corner.

I’d make this in soft cotton or very fine linen. I did have a thought about the modesty panels. After raising the seamline of the front bodice, I’ll try a softly-gathered fabric to mimic the undergarment known as a chemise/camisa which is seen in so many early paintings. Perhaps it would look nice to add a strip of the same around the hem of the sleeves. (I’ve gained and lost enough weight that stretch marks just above the bustline are visible.) Nehmah

For bargain fabrics, this is gorgeous! I love the flowered fabric. The colours of it.
