I was inspired by Very Praerie’s pink dress in this Butterick pattern (Butterick B5130). I had seen the pattern before but when I saw how great her dress looked I had to go and get it, and what a fun dress this is to make! the great thing is that it’s virtually impossible to try it on along the way so you have no idea how it’s going to turn out and then suddenly when you’ve threaded what feels like the 50th piece of elastic through ANOTHER channel, voila – you have a wonderful flowy dress that looks really impressive on the top! I followed Very Praerie’s recommendations and added onto the front and back underbust by just under a cm, and included an elastic channel at the waist. I wore it to my friend’s 30th birthday dinner last night and got lots of compliments – it’s a winner!
