It started with a Polish folklore-inspired sewing workshop. We heard an introductory lecture on the cultural aspect of the traditional folk attire and then were able to create something inspired by it.
Vests appeared in the traditional clothing of practically every region. The cut was fairly simple – there were no darts in the original pattern, I added bust darts to add shape to the vest.
It’s created from a nice brownish wool with a visible weave. To add character to the vest I finished off the seams with black cotton self-made cording.
The most important part of the vest, though, are the flaps added to the bottom of the vest, giving it a really original touch.
