Cape Town, South...
End of the month: and its time for my Free Sewing Lesson held at the local library. I had requests for a laptop cover. so here it is. My projects needs to fit in a 3 hour time slot. This original pattern was from a Bernina magazine, and they used a 3-5mm Felt, but I tried to make this project much cheaper, since felt is very expensive. I have made this laptop cover before, using vehicle upholstery and rooflining, to give it lots of padding. that cover works out at about R150 ($15), but the cover I prepared in a kit for the students worked out R70 ($7).
1m sheeting is very cost effective, since it is 240cm wide instead of 150cm like other fabrics. then it will be enough for the back and front.
Hit the city streets in adventurous looks with utilitarian details like cargo pockets and belts.
Twists on feminine classics, like a bold patterned shift dress and pants with a racing stripe.
