Description

I made this dress out of foil. It took around 6 boxes of Reynolds Wrap heavy duty foil, and tape. My room is completely COVERED in foil and my hands are offically dyed metalic. I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out. I hope you like it. : )

You can stitch it. I use aluminum in my work. I use recycled cans I’ve been saving some aluminum foil we BBQed in thinking about how to stitch it in a piece. Love what you’ve done.

Gorgeous dress! Good luck on the competition. I can envision a similar dress made out of satin. You’re an inspiration.

Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. Our internet has been down for awhile. I was thinking of just cutting it down the back or side and then just taping it back up. I didn’t really worry about putting in a zipper, because it’s just a one night dress.

HOLY CRAPPOLA!!! the creation is finally finished and I am AMAZED!! Wow! How did you do it in the end? When you wear it is it all going to crumple?? It seems such a shame to have it only have 1 outting!! Its amazingly beautiful and so intricate and detailed… I could babble on like a loser about how great this is. You should be really proud of yourself and you will defo win the competition! Wow wow wow… cant believe how great this is. Well done Melonhead – you have surpassed yourself :-)

Thanks! Lots of tape. Haha. I think it’s more of a Cinderella type dress, one night only. I hope so! If it wins I’ll be going to New York city for the awards ceremony. :D

This looks so much fun ! I wonder what triggered you to create this? It looks like it should be on the red carpet . Now, where is the zipper? ;-)

Haha it was. It’s for a Scholastics competition. Haha I figured you would only be able to wear it once, so I didn’t put one in.
