For My College FMP (final Major Project) I had to come up with my own theme and brief. This meant that I had complete creative freedom for the project.

For my FMP in titled “the Last Dance,” I intend to create a bodice and skirt around the theme of the ballet. However, I will also be looking at “decay” and how things evolve and disintegrate over time. By combining these two themes it will enable me to push my skills in both research and developing my ideas…….At the end of this project I intend to produce a fitted structured bodice and a skirt. Suporteng my final out comes I will carry out various experimentle samples to aid my design development.
I find the costumes in ballet realy intresting as to me they have a sence of romance to them as the costumes are one of the main ways in which story is told. By combining them with the theam of decay I will be putting a different stance on the over all feel to the garments displaying them in an innovative way……. I have included part of the opening section to my brief to help give you an idea of what my project is about.

although my dress is based on these themes it its intended to be a fashion garment and not a costume.
