another one of my steffi variations, the pattern just fits really well and seems to like to be altered by me. i’m soooo happy with it. it’s really warm and i wore it in our pretty chilly office all day and i was so comfortable. the wings/yoke is completely removable – it’s attached with snaps around the neck. i was able to again use me mermaid engraved snaps, yay! i love the way it looks like a uniform jacket but at the same time it’s very soft and cozy. boilded wool is one of my alltime favorite fabrics. i usually don’t like wool because it itches, but this one does not at all, it has an amazing texture and just a bit of stretch. all the seams are done with a flatlock stitch on my serger. i’m still thinking about redoing the collar, it doesn’t quite look right unless it’s folded down. the other problem was the asymmetric closure with the removable wings – i ended up cutting small holes into the wings in order for the snaps to be able to be closed. i originially wanted to punch holes all over the wings – kinda like swiss cheese – but my punching tool didn’t work on the fabric so i cut the little holes by hand, if anyone has a better solution let me know! generally i’m super happy with it though!

That’s a reaaly cool take on the steffi jacket! Love it! I hope you don’t mind that I took some inspiration from you. I’m doing mine in black denim though. I would be literally boiling in the Caribbean in that fabric.

I love everything about this jacket! The buttons, the closeness of the buttons, the asymmetry, the colour… It’s great and inspiring!
