This is another top using the same Built by Wendy Simplicity pattern as the white gathered one, only with a very different material and a few minor changes. I made it a little longer and made the back one piece instead of two pieces. I forgot to take into account the back seam allowances then, but it actually worked out because the extra room was good for my shoulders to move. To tell the front from the back I put a tiny vintage corduroy button on the back, omitted the sleeve elastics, and added the wide navy belt so as not to look like a potato in it! It’s really comfortable and I love the fabric for summer.
Light, breezy polyester from the sale bin, little red corduroy button, blue quilter’s cotton for belt.

This looks fabulous! I made a black version the other day and added the elbow length sleeves instead. I love it! And the best part is it cost me only 75c for the elastic, the fabric was given to me. Yay!
