This is my first time making shorts and I LOVE this pattern. I don’t think I’m ever going to buy a pair of shorts again. These are the ones I made on my first try- they’re a size too big. I think I’ll make size 34 next time. One note: the instructions for this pattern are pretty confusing so it takes a bit of patience to put these together. Also, I did not use any interfacing in making these shorts, but they still turned out OK. So I guess interfacing is optional for this project!
Check out my “Ruby Sailor Shorts” pattern for a fun variation!
I used leftover quilting cotton from another project, and I made the buttons (1" in diameter) out of polymer clay.

So cute! I love the Ruby pattern. Just wish I had legs nice enough for shorts. I love that you made your buttons out of polymer clay. I’m experimenting with making some ceramic buttons at the moment.
