Presenting my version of the flared godet skirt from the Burda Style magazine 05/2012. Made with Liberty tana lawn, underlined with black poplin fabric to make sure the fabric wasn’t see through and to make it sturdier. I serged all edges prior to sewing so that the hems were neat and tidy already and this made the process a little easier and made sure both the top layer and underlining stayed put through construction. I think it works as it has a nice thickness now and it doesnt drape too much but stands out a little more. The original fabric suggestion was gabardine so I needed to have something a little thicker than lawn. I didn’t want the buttons to be concealed so changed the front a little. Green buttons added to give a little bit of a colour pop.
