Description

I recently bought a bunch of patterns on a 5 for $5 sale, one being Simplicity 3688- a forties reissue. I’ve never done anything with a vintage pattern or reissue, so I was a little hesitant at first, but I really like it! I didn’t use a shiny or dressy fabric like on the envelope, since I’m not actively anticipating the invention of an effective time machine. A nice, printed cotton lawn instead- although the print hides the nice gathering and pleating details :(
I left out the gathered pieces that act sort of like shoulder pads (heading, I believe they’re called).
I’m also bummed that I didn’t pay any attention to where the print would line up along the yoke- I should really know better by now!

I think choosing this fabric instead of some shiny fabric was a good decision. I like your top!
