This was, probably, my easiest remake ever :) I had this maxi strap dress for ages, because I loved the fabric and hoped to turn it into something else, someday… And I did – last spring! It took about an hour to reach my goal and the result was worn all over the summer and late into the autumn.
The trick was to make it shorter. But I wanted the hem to stay in place, because it is much wider than the upper part of the garment. I cut the dress at the point, where it joined at the bust, then went the middle of the skirt and I was almost done. But it hurt my heart to leave the remaining fabric lying in my stash, so I turned it into sleeves… and nothing was wasted. I’ve attached them to the straps from the inside, pressed and was done. I usually wear it with a skirt, made from a very thin slippery fabric (seen in the pictures), which has a double function – protection against tricky wind (happens and very often, but I am no Marilyn, no) and both as an underskirt, if I decide to pair this dress with tights :)
And all in all, this outfit makes me look much fuller, which is a bonus ;D

Hmz, I wasn’t trying to make it look vintage, but it turned out well, anyway ;)
