Description

Another A line dress, with bold combination of colors and prints. It looks a little vintage to me, with the slighty puffy sleeves, 2 box pleats under the front yoke, the constrasting hem band and the button back closure . I hope you like it!!!

Material Notes

100 % cotton fabric, 2 different matching prints (3/4 yard of each), 3 buttons

I love this happy little dress. What size is it in this picture? I am going to download the pattern and make it for my granddaughter, she wears size 4, but I suppose the pattern has different sizes ? How did you decide what fabrics and colors and prints to choose? I want it to look a lot like your dress, it IS so pretty and so is your little model.

She wears size 4 too, but what i ussually do is to draft the pattern by using a T shirt that fits a little loose and then trace the shape on a piece of paper, there are a lot of tutorials on the web, i highly recomended craftinessisnotoptional.com (most of my sewing inspiration come from this site) After you have a pattern you like, you can make any sorts of modifications to get new models, in my case most of the dresses came out of A line shaped pattern. Now, for the fabrics, you just have to go to your local fabric store and start to wonder around, mixing and matching, there’s were the fun begins!!!

Thanks Vanessa. I have been sewing a bit lately and have more to do before I fly to Europe for a holiday in 12 days time.
