Description

This bag is designed by me for someone who wanted a cute but classy bag for her school books. There is an awesome vinyl flower on the front which really makes up the whole bag. There are 7 pockets and a zipper pocket in the lining and the bag closes at the top with a magnetic snap. There is a strong but flexible piece of plastic at the bottom of the bag (in between the outside layer and the lining) for durability. To reinforce the strength of the bag, I added a layer of stiff, strong interfacing between the bag and lining. The handles are very strong to carry the heavy weight of books. Hope you like it =). For more pictures read my blog post: http://imadeit-klassyk.blogspot.com/2010/08/amandas-bag.html

It looks so well made, great work. And I love the tan with the stripes, a little bit nautical and very cute.

This may seem like a random question, but where did you find the thin plastic piece for the bottom of the bag. I have searched everywhere, but you usually have to buy in bulk. Any advice?

haha funny story. I looked everywhere around my house for a scrap piece of plastic but I couldn’t find anything so I cut up my nice plastic portfolio book. I ruined a perfectly good portfolio but it was the perfect kind of plastic!

Haha! That is great! I have some ugly purses I can probably steal the plastic bottoms from or some plastic thingy lying around. Haha! Thanks!

Wow! Love this one! Don´t know wether this is a compliment or not, but it doesn´t look handmade at all, its so perfect! Usually I don´t like these fabric flowers added to cloths and bags and never thought about doing one for my stuff. But yours looks so simple, stylish and classy espacially in combination with the plain shape and fabrics of the bag, that I can really imagine to make one on my own one day – thank u for inspiration!
