Long Beach, Cali...
There is a discount Mexican Market near us in Los Angeles that sells 25 pound sacks of flour in cotton fabric sacks. It was just enough to make a simple sheath dress for my 2 year old daughter. They only have three different patterns, the pink and blue flowered one I used for this dress, purple flowers, and yellow and white checks. I’d have to buy an awful lot of flour to get enough fabric for an adult dress.
I used one of her outgrown dresses from the previous summer as a pattern for the basic shape and scaled it out to fit her.
