a Fendi inspired skirt, from last years collection, major themes: light, airy, geometric yet feminine, strong yet delicate, lots of cut out spaces and lots of ‘what is not there’
a am building a three layer type of a skirt, two flouncy layers of semi-translucent chiffon over a pencil just below knee skirt in taffeta. adding dynamic to the chiffon are two discrete and limited to just below the waist yoke and decorative band, crinoline layers only about 2-3" . the chiffon is semi-translucent allowing the colour of the taffeta to play through and the patterns in each of the chiffons to create a new pattern, crinoline ought not be visible i hope.
decorative waist band over yoke, black semi-luster cris cross type ribbon patterns over similar textured back drop, both black.
zipper and button closure (ribbon loop over button at waist, zipper below)
taffeta (dusty muted rose) underskirt, below knee length
chiffon (layer one: white with black polka dots) semi-translucent
chiffon (layer two: black with white polka dots) semi-translucent
crinoline, purple-ish hue, 2-3" below waist yoke.
Take a trip down the aisle in these gorgeous gowns, or change the fabrics for a spring party dress.
