Added May 18, 2014
I made this prom gown for a client using the bodice of Burda 7011 and drafting the skirt myself. She wanted a dress with a straight-across strapless bodice, a full skirt with a higher hem in front of the skirt. She showed me photos of what she wanted and I got to work making a mock-up in muslin. She picked the fabric and lining materials. I added tulle to the underskirt for additional fullness. I also added bra cups in addition to the boning in the bodice, added a waist stay from grosgrain ribbon, and satin ribbon hanging loops to the interior of the dress. She was very pleased with her dress and looked beautiful in it for her senior prom event!
