I saw a really nice dress in a catalogue, but it was ridiculously out of my price range so I decided to make it. With my mum’s help in designing the pattern, I produced this. I made it to fit snugly against the body but I lost weight so it now needs taking in.
3.5metres floral cotton material, zip

The pattern itself was very rough. I may still have the sketches somewhere but will have to look. It was pretty simple to make. The skirt itself I made at least twice my hip measurements and then just did little tucks in around it, though I tried to keep it even (left and right sides). The band under the bust is strengthened with interfacing. The top part was the hardest. I should really draw out the pattern properly so i can use it again, and post it up here. Thanks for your nice comments!
