Bodice Top – BurdaStyle 04/2013 #115
I sewed this top over only 4 days. Stoked. The material is from the 70s, its smooth and slinky, and also frays super easy. Once again I had exactly enough of this fabric remnant in my vintage stash to make this top. The fit is good, its just that my abdomen is usually the culprit, as it is my problem area lol; and I also have a long torso, so the belly is bound to be exposed. I suspect the hook and eye tape, which I’ve put down the front, isn’t technically supposed to be visible when sewing it on to garments. I broke a needle going over the hook and eyes because I didn’t manually turn the needle uptake knob. This top has a continental vibe, and being cropped in style, a high waist skirt or pants could match well; here I only had this office-y grey skirt in my wardrobe to match it up with, but you can see the silhouette I was going for lol. Location: Parnell
vintage 70s floral satiny/silky/nylony-blend woven fabric, black hook and eye tape, sew in interfacing.
