Description

This is my own version of Twinkle by Wenlens A-Plus A-line skirt! I used Seta fabric, but its more like polyester. I have no idea what Seta is but anyway. I put in some pleats going in different directions, I made pockets and then did a bubble hem. I shortened the yoke section. I also put in a invisible zipper for my first time! I used the waist band pattern and the back of the skirt pattern for my skirt. I pinned the rest of the skirt in place cut it out and then sewed it up. But I couldnt foget the help of my handy cork board which is the next best thing to a sewing mannequin. Couldnt of done it with out it! I had to put pockets in because I just love pockets and I cant go with out them. I made them extra deep because I hate the shallow ones. I recently bought a bubble skirt and I admired the way it flowed as you walked and the feeling it gives me when I wear it, so I knew I had to make it a bubble skirt. Then I made a flowing, pleated lilac singlet to go with it, so I would have something to wear with it. Turned out great, it was quite easy, compared to the skirt. When I started I had so much work to do the finish line was 1000s of miles away and I had little hope. I made the singlet twice, and made 2 temporary versions of the skirt. I spent heaps of time reading magazines, and thinking long and hard, and sketching my ideas. After a long 2 weeks without most of my TV. nights it finaly came to an end, everything pulled together and I cant believe the outcome myself!

Just sew creative! I really like your fabric choice and the changes of the design made it so modern. Be proud of the outcome, it really works for you. Good luck and keep sewing!

Thanks Sew4my3, I was hoping you would like it. I had a dream last night that Wenlen wrote me a letter telling me all these things that werent clear to me like that I was in the top three and all these other things but I was so confused and didnt know what to do. But at the same time I didnt care because I was in the top three and it was the best feeling ever. But yea wish that was true…..

You look great! I love the top especially – is that also silk? And did you make the flowers on it?

Thanks. I dont know about the top fabric, I didnt see what it was made out of, and my mother dosent know. She said maybe some kind of Polyester or something else, that wasnt on the list of types of fabrics on burda style. Yes I did make the flowers myself, an original idea too.
