Description

I’ve always wanted a bikini like this and i finally had the guts to try make one! it’s not perfect and i dunno how well it’ll fare against the surf and sun BUT still good for lying on the beach. also super comfy to wear :) This is just a thin knit like material, i might try making one in a more durable/swimwear-like material

I just drew the pieces on fabric and cut and sewed…used my undies as pattern for the bottom and extended height to make it high waisted and attached skirt piece over that. top was just a rectangle :)

    It looks very cute and very comfy! I can’t get used to the thought of bikini’s that cover that much though, thinking of all the white parts it’ll cause… Oh well, I was a teen in the early eighties (in Europe) when most of us only wore a skimpy little tanga bottom and that was it… LOL I have made undies much like these, they’re sort of a short leg boxer and I love wearing them. They are so comfy! I have made those out of a polyester/lycra knit, which would be very suitable for bikini’s as well, so I’ve thought of making one from the same fabric.

      LOL i know what you mean, tan lines are a worry…i’ll just lather on the sunscreen :)
