Flirty Fifties Skirt

Added Feb 26, 2012

by vancity2011

Vancouver, Canada

This is my first official project. I did this without a pattern, and it turned out not too shabby. It’s sort of an A-line with a lot of gathering I guess. I just sort of drew it out on some paper, and messed around with the seam allowances. I don’t have a serger yet, so my seams aren’t as finished as I’d like, but you can’t really tell. The print reminded me of Betsy Johnson who I adore!

Material Notes

Polyester – I managed to snag it from my favourite fabric shop here in Vancouver for $3.99/yard. I used two yards, and a 7" invisible zipper.
