My 3-year-old son saw a pattern for a dinosaur costume at the local fabric store and wanted it for his Halloween costume this year. I basically followed the Butterick Pattern BP230 and used royal blue, light blue, and light green fleece fabrics for the material. The back is closed with velcro, the tail is stuffed with polyfil, the ankles and wrists are elasticized, and the collar and hood’s edging around the face are finished with bias tape. The hardest part of the project was getting the tail sewn into the back of the jumper. With the all of the polyfil and layers of fabric, but machine had a hard time sewing it up, but in the end the results were very cute!
Royal blue, light blue, and light green fleece
1/4" elastic
1/2" single fold bias tape
5/8" wide VELCRO fastener tape
Polyfil.
