Burda Style For people who sew
Description
I had some slightly synthetic looking sweater fabric, with a lovely fleece inside. So I thought it would be a great chance to use it and experiment with this cape pattern. I’ve made it a little longer than the tutorial, and have a rather basic machine so had to use a zig zag sweater stitch, but it’s turned out looking quite nice. I’ve also made it a bit longer than the one in the tutorial, as i wanted both wrists covered (and alm tall enough to look a bit gawky with too-short ‘sleeves’.
Great if you suit boat-neck style necklines. And it’s very cosy. I can happily survive the air-con now.

About a metre of sweater fabric.

Thanks! I didn’t follow the pattern to the letter (i always cheat), but I much preferred a longer version of the cape. And make it nice and wide at the base. Think mine was about 2m at the bottom, and only just wide enough. Nothing worse than not being able to move your arms :) Would love to see yours when you’re done!

Thanks Patti! i want to do some experimenting with the collar in future versions, and a hood would be a great idea. Also want to try a more standard cowl collar and an asymmetric look.

It looks great!!! Great Job!!! Collar can almost be used as a Hoodie.
