Had great fun dressing for a Murder Mystery Dinner Party. The setting for this one was 1925 aboard a yacht in the Mediterranean. I came up with a costume after researching photos online. A Cloche style hat isn’t an easy thing to find so I knew I would have to come up with one on my own. I found the perfect start at the thrift store – a gold felt hat with a large floppy brim. I trimmed the brim so that there was barely an angle left at the bottom edge. I used plain white crepe and striped fabric used for the dress to create a band around the hat. I finished it with a giant, vintage, rhinestone brooch in the center front. I felt like a real Flapper Girl! I’ll post the flapper dress next.

Great inspiration! My Mum bought me a felted teal cloche hat which was sweet but a bit plain… I love this idea so will have to try it! Thanks!

Very, very nice. Looking forward to see the dress since my friend is invented for a 20ies-wedding and I am going to sew her dress. Unfortunately it is almost impossible here in Switzerland to get a pattern. I guess I have to draw something myself. Thanks again for sharing :-))

Thanks so much! I’ll be posting the dress in a couple of hours. I made mine from a tank top pattern and added short sleeves. I’ll explain what I did in the post.
