Used the AmyButler weekender bag pattern as I wanted some fun hand luggage for a trip to Vegas!
The pattern is great, very straight forward however the materials and the absolute mountain of interfacing required made it a very pricey project indeed. Although now it’s done totally worth as it feel very sturdy. Plastic false bottom also helps it keep shape. The pattern comes with a warning that it can be tricky due to so many layers etc but it wasn’t actually as bad as most people on blogs made out. Worst parts were cutting out so many pieces and hand sewing all the lining. The actual construction is actually enjoyable. I did cheat and buy pre-made piping otherwise it would have taken forever…
I changed the inside so that there are lots of pockets for travel, ipad bit, phone holder, zip compartment and a document pocket inside. :) also put some cool little ‘luggage feet’ on the bottom.
