Flamenco style skirt

Rimouski, Canada

Taffeta skirt that I made with the pattern V8858. Very easy to make but easy doesn’t mean fast. There are a lot of ruffles and I had to make a narrow hem on each one what it took so much time. Only the straight part is lined. I’m very glad with the result, I would like to make another one but since it’s a long skirt I don’t have any occasion to wear it. Maybe I will try with a less dressy fabric.

Material Notes

Taffeta, lining, invisible zipper

Garment Type

Love it! When I first saw this Vogue pattern it also reminded me of a flamenco skirt and actually thought it was a good idea to use it to make my own flamenco dress ( here in Andalucía it is a "must"to have one of those but I´m an outsider!) Your version is stunning and your shoes are the same lovely shade as your skirt! Very, very beautiful

I fell in love with this pattern the first time I saw it. I love ruffles and of course flamenco skirts and dresses. Thank you for your kind words.
