Description

My first proper Lonsdale by Sewaholic! I really enjoyed making this dress and it was actually pretty cheap to do so! I used (what I think is) a printed seersucker with tiny koi carp swimming around on it. It’s a very cool dress to wear in humid weather and I have worn it to lots of parties, weddings, and even to the beach! To read more about this dress, click here!

Thank you! It’s actually a bit cold at the moment for it with all this rain…! I may at last be acclimatising!

You should definitely make one! It’s really quite an easy pattern and the instructions are illustrated which is great! I bet you could get some beautiful fabric in Taipei!

Thank you, melodym! The fish are great, but they were a bit of a nightmare to get swimming the same way!

Thank you very much, Ellen! I hadn’t realised I had so many blue clothes until right now! It’s lovely light fabric – I wish I’d bought more at the time! :-)

Thank you, Mary! You’re so sweet to say such nice things (I’m blushing here!)! The fabric shop was heaven and I did go a little mad before we left (two boxes of fabric isn’t too much, is it?!) – you had to dig a bit, but you could really find some gems if you did! If you ever make it to Singapore, let me know and I will show you about! I’m very very lucky to have learnt to sew in Asia, I think the fabric is a good deal cheaper here! xx

I know how lucky I am! I never imagined I’d get to see Tokyo and Singapore so you never know, you might be a lottery winner yet! I love Spain so so much too! We went to a wedding in Ibiza (and I wore this dress!) and it was pure heaven! I would love to live there one day… Great food and such lovely people! I’m sure people love it when you ask about their clothes – I would be so happy if someone asked me about mine! :-)

We said the same thing about Spain after our trip there! There will be a good community of sewists if we all do it! Ireland had beautiful weather when we visited in July (my husband is Irish so we did a little tour of the UK, Ireland and Spain last time we went home!) – I miss cold weather! ;-)
